WVEPC Meeting: November 2023
Dear Members:
Our next membership meeting is November 14, 2023 at Illahe Hills Country Club. The schedule is:
- 5:30 pm – Social hour
- 6:00 pm – Dinner
- 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm – Speaker
Our speaker will be Andrea Smith, CPA, CPC, and QPA of Kernutt Stokes, an accounting firm with offices in Eugene, Bend, Corvallis, and Lake Oswego. Ms. Smith is the director of retirement plan services and will be speaking about planning for qualified retirement assets, including an overview of changes and new provisions arising from the adoption of the SECURE Act 2.0. SECURE 2.0 contains numerous new requirements affecting retirement plans and retirement savings options. Ms. Smith will discuss changes to the required minimum distribution rules, qualified plan changes including new distribution provisions and other elements of the Act which may be of interest to you and your clients.

Our next meeting dates are February 15, 2024 and May 14, 2024 at 5:30 pm. If any member is interested in presenting or suggesting a topic to cover at our meeting, please contact a board member.
